The word “Concierge” has come a long way.  The Merriam-Webster defines it as this:

Con-cierge

1. A resident in a apartment building especially in France who serves as a doorkeeper, landlord’s representative, and janitor.
2. A hotel staff member who handles luggage and mail, make reservations, and arranges tour’s:

Today a “concierge” is a totally different concept. Simply put it is the 21 century “Personal Assistant” for the everyday person. It is no longer the doorkeeper of hotel concept. It is for the everyday person trying to squeeze more hours into a  day than exists. Katharine Giovanni a concierge and customer service specialist wrote on her blog and this is what she had to say:

“Concierge services is also a terrific new work/life benefit as corporations begin to offer these services to their employees and clients. Real estate management companies are setting up lobby concierge and are offering them to their apartment and office buildings and neighborhoods. Concierges are being added to hospitals, universities, shopping malls, airports and more. Travel Agencies and Meeting Planners are all adding them to their list of services. Certainly it’s the wave of the future.”

There are so many services concierge companies offer. When I mention on my website “The list is Endless” I mean just that. In our everyday life the list is endless. We all do a balancing act keeping in balance!
